Sunday 6 October at 3pm: I’ll be playing a solo recital of music by historical women pianist-composers at the London Piano Festival, King’s Place, London. The concert will be followed by a Q&A between me and Tim Parry, editor of International Piano magazine, about the history of women playing the piano

September 6 at 11.00am (Coffee Concert – coffee and cake from 11am; concert at 11.30am): I’ll be giving a solo recital in Holy Trinity Church, Haddington, as part of the Lammermuir Festival in East Lothian. Music by nine of the historical women pianists featured in my recent book.
August 2024
August 3 at 1pm: I’ll be giving a solo recital in St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. Tickets are free (donations go to the Cathedral). Programme includes piano music by Joseph Haydn, Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Cécile Chaminade and Edvard Grieg.
August 11 at 6.45pm: I will be speaking about my book Women and the Piano, in conversation with Kate Molleson at the Edinburgh Book Festival. Tickets go on sale on 20 June. Info here

March 12 at 1pm at Wigmore Hall: A concert to mark the launch of my book, Women and the Piano: A History in 50 Lives. I’ll be playing piano music by some of the women pianist-composers who feature in the book. Info here.
March 9 at 5.30pm – I’ll be playing a solo recital as part of International Women’s Day alumnae celebrations at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge
March 9 at 11.45am – I’ll be interviewed about my new book on Radio 3’s Music Matters programme, hosted by Tom Service.

September 24-31: I’ll be taking part in Week Three of the Open Chamber Music Seminar in Prussia Cove, Cornwall, with concerts locally at the end of the week.

July 20-23, Cerne Abbas, Dorset: I’ll be taking part in the last-ever summer festival of the Gaudier Ensemble. Concerts from Thursday to Sunday inclusive. Watch the Gaudier website for details of the programme. Don’t miss this last chance to hear this excellent group of musicians playing for their favourite audience in Cerne Abbas.

May 16 at 6pm: Solo recital in St Cecilia’s Hall, Edinburgh. I’ll be featuring music by female pianist-composers and playing a splendid Erard piano from the University’s collection of historic instruments. This concert is in aid of Edinburgh University’s musical instrument collection at St Cecilia’s. Book on Eventbrite.

April 23 at 3pm, New Auditorium of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall: Brahms C major piano trio with principal players of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. (Please note that this concert no longer contains the originally advertised Brahms Horn Trio). Ticket info.
