Slightly foxed

4th October 2012 | Daily Life | 0 comments

The local foxes are getting cheekier (see photo). This one didn’t even mind me going out to take a picture. We now have to remind ourselves not to put food directly on the garden table, now that we know the foxes use it as an observation platform. There are several foxes who play regularly in the garden.

It’s a curious thing that our cat doesn’t appear to notice the foxes, or to be afraid of them – nor do they seem to notice her. Yet I would have thought the foxes had a feral, canine smell that our cat would hate to encounter in her own territory.  Perhaps they are so ‘other’ than she does not know how to compute their degree of scariness.
