Dragonflies

13th June 2012 | Daily Life | 0 comments

After a week of dreadful weather, the sun actually came out in London this morning. Bob and I abandoned our plans and rushed up to the local Common, along with lots of other people who were clearly thinking the same thing. Grab a bit of sunshine while it lasts! Everyone knew that more rain is forecast for later.

It was a good moment to arrive at the pond, because as well as the cygnets and two new broods of baby coots, we saw a fox and later a little rabbit by the water’s edge. There were blue dragonflies by the water too (see photo; you’ll have to look closely).

But still not a single mallard duckling. What has happened to the ducklings this year?
