Today my Nocturne book comes out in the US. I’m looking forward to having access to an enormous new group of potential readers.
Yes, I know it will be of interest only to a certain subset of them – but still an enormous subset!
I tell myself that a book like mine might provide a moment or two of respite from all the exciting stuff that’s going on in the US at the moment. With luck, it might function like a nocturne – a gentle way of turning one’s mind from the day’s activities to a more peaceful mood.
In the garden, a tree peony (which arrived mysteriously without our intervention) has produced its first flower of the spring (see photo). Surrounded by bluebells, it provides a cheering blaze of colour.

Looking forward to hearing how the US responds to Nocturnes!
Sadly some people seem to find drama more exciting than peace, but they are the losers. I love your photos – I can’t stop taking pictures of the cherry blossom this year.
Am so glad to hear that your book will be available in the US. I happen to be a Mexican admirer of yours who lives in Mexico. I tried to purchase Nocturnes from Foyles in London by internet but the shipping expenses to this country were far more than the cost of the book. I thought I’d have to wait until my next trip to London to get hold of Nocturnes. Please let us know who will be distributing the book so that I can get hold of a copy. I am sure you will have many readers on this side of the Atlantic.
Maris, thank you. As far as I know, the book should be widely available in the US. I’m sorry the shipping expenses were so high.
